Skrillex | “Right Here (Studio Version)”

Skrillex is one of those artists that has taken me quite a while to get into. I’m not a big dubstep fan, but Skrillex is definitely the easiest to listen to. In his latest, “Right Here,” he incorporates a lot more than your typical “Whom-whom-whom-whom” sound I feel most dubstep artists rely on. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of grinding and wobbling bass, but there’s also that Justice/Daft Punk electro influence throughout.

Digitalism | “2 Hearts”

It’s been 3 years since German electro duo Digitalism released their dance epic, Idealism. After releasing the fantastic “Blitz” in October (it was so good we included it on our Winter Sampler), they’ve given us another dance-pop gem with “2 Hearts.” Both tracks will be included on their upcoming album, I Love You, Dude, out June 21.

N.E.R.D. & Daft Punk | “Hypnotize U (Nero Remix)”

When the latest N.E.R.D. track, “Hypnotize U,” was released, I thought it was missing something. It had a little funk and Pharrell’s sultry falsetto vocals, but it just seemed lacking. I guess UK DJ/producer duo Nero had the same idea, because they added some dubstep mixing and some of Daft Punk‘s (who produced the original track) synths.

Apparently, there is going to be a slew of remixes of this N.E.R.D. track, and this is a great start.

Girl Talk | “Oh No” & “Get It Get It”

The mash-up guru, Girl Talk (aka Greg Gillis), dropped his latest album, All Day, on Monday, for FREE.

There isn’t a whole lot different with this album versus everything else he’s done. Each track is jam-packed with samples, but here are two of our favorite new ones.

Girl Talk | “Oh No” [mp3] (Samples of Black Sabbath, Ludacris, The Ramones, California Swag District, Missy Elliot, and Dorrough)

Girl Talk | “Get It Get It” [mp3] (Samples of Lady Gaga, Soulja Boy, Daft Punk, Rage Against The Machine, Kid Cudi, MGMT, 2 Live Crew)

Digitalism | “Blitz”

It’s been over 3 years since German electronic duo Digitalism released their dance-tastic album, Idealistic, so you know their fans have been feinding for something new. And we’ve gotten a little taste of their upcoming album, Blitz, with the title track (due out as an official single November 8).

This is probably one of my favorite Digitalism tracks to date. It’s got spacey synth and most importantly, a pounding beat that will make you dance your ass off! These guys have really cleaned up their sound, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they soon joined Justice and Daft Punk in the ranks of electronic royalty.

N.E.R.D. feat. Daft Punk | “Hypnotize U”

It’s been over 2 years since N.E.R.D. released their last album, Seeing Sounds. As much as we still rock it (and every other N.E.R.D. album for that matter), it’s time for a new album! Luckily, they’ve got it covered with Nothing dropping on November 2.

So here’s a little taste of what you can expect from these hip hop heads, “Hypnotize U” is more on the side of R & B, but it’s produced by none other than Daft Punk, so who cares, right? It’s spacey and all sorts of fantastic.

Oh, and they’re touring with the friggin’ Gorillaz. RAWK.

[New Release] White Panda | “Rematch” Mixtape!

Less than 8 months since dropping their first (AMAZING) mixtape, “Versus,” The White Panda (aka Procrast and DJ Griffi) have just released their follow-up, the properly-titled “Rematch.”

This time around, they have 14 ballerific tracks consisting of 47 samples from artists like Jay-Z, Daft Punk, Trick Daddy, Matt & Kim, Lady Gaga, Crystal Castles, and yes, Miley friggin’ Cyrus. It’s like you have a DJ mixing in your head… though that could just be the schizophrenia.

So, here it is in all of it’s glory, “Rematch.”

And in case you missed out on the first mixtape, see our right-up here.

Adidas uses The Force for World Cup commercial (w/ Daft Punk!!!)

The idea of remaking the Cantina scene from Star Wars: A New Hope by including Daft Punk and Snoop Dogg brought tears of joy to BC’s eyes… even if it is for the World Cup.

Other star cameos in the commercial include Noel Gallagher (of Oasis), Ciara, Jay Baruchel (star of She’s Out Of My League), Ian Brown (of Stone Roses), and to a much lesser extent, David Beckham.
